FALL HIKE:  Next Hike is Sunday November 20th 12:30 – 3:30. New Loop Trail at Silas Condict County Park. This trail passes through newly acquired property at Silas Condict, and is good for hikers of any ability. Although the trail contains rugged terrain and numerous ups and downs, most of them are short. There is an elevation gain of about 1,000 feet, not all at once, and the views and dramatic rock formations are worth the effort. Wildlife is reported to be plentiful. I've done this trail twice, and can't wait to see it in it's fall colors.

Directions: Follow N.J. Route 208 to I-287 South and take Exit 52B of I-287 (N.J. Route 23 North). Follow Route 23 north for 2.6 miles and take the exit for Kinnelon Road/Kiel Road. Turn left at the traffic light, following the sign for “Kinnelon,” cross Route 23, and continue for 1.1 miles to the entrance to Sila s Condict County Park, on the right. Turn right and follow William Lewis Arthur Drive (the park entrance road) for 0.7 mile, passing two parking areas. With the lake and a stone building (known as the Casino) visible on the left, park in the third parking area along the road.

Contact Pat Patti at thepattis3@optonline .net to sign up.

As always, rain cancels. Please wear appropriate footwear, parts of the trails are rocky and there may be stream crossings.

GET WELL WISHES:  We send get well wishes to Larry McDonough who had suffered some heart issues and Pandora Fink, who is recovering from an ACL/Meniscus injury.

FACILITIES:  If something goes wrong or breaks while you are at the lodge, please fix it if possible, or notify Matt Kenny, Joe Faranetta, Ron Snider or Tom Fox so it can be taken care of as soon as possible.  There is a list of contact numbers located by the phone in the kitchen for heat and plumbing, oil etc.

The fireplace is more for ambiance than heat.  Please do not build huge fires.  There have been a few times where water is leaking in through the roof and running down the hood of the fireplace.  Please keep the fire at a reasonable size.  The fire should not be left unattended and must be completely out before retiring for the evening.

THE LODGE:  A reminder, it is required that you leave the lodge at least in the condition you found it.  Other members may arrive before the cleaning service. This is a community environment, and it is your responsibility to leave your room and the lodge in a condition that is clean and neat, as members may arrive prior to the cleaning service.  Clean your toilets and your sinks, please.  Lodge Rules, Opening and Closing procedures are posted on the bulletin board.   The number at the lodge is 802-496-8894.
