THE FALL LINE
VOLUME V, ISSUE I

January 2012
A QUARTERLY PUBLICATION OF THE NORTH JERSEY WHIZ SKIERS

FROM THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:
Please note the change in contacts for the Lodging Chairperson.  We would like to thank Jane and Tom Miles for the 18 years that they have given up their Thursday and Friday nights during the ski season to field calls and re-arrange bedding sheets.  We cannot thank them enough for their years of volunteer service; their time and their commitment to what can be a thankless job.  That being said, we would like to remind everyone that there is bound to be a bit of a change, as each person has their own style.  We would also like to remind everyone that this is a volunteer job, so please be considerate and courteous when calling to make and cancel reservations.  Changes to the weekend need to be made prior to Wednesday by 8 PM and reservations are not guaranteed until payment has been received. A reminder to all members, new and old, to re-acquaint themselves with the opening and closing procedures as well as the lodge rules and policies.  They are posted on the bulletin board in the fireplace room.If you need a key, please contact Tom Fox at tfox@acornapplied.com  There is a $10 deposit for each key, and your membership requirements must be in good standing.

CONDOLENCES: To the friends and family of Ted Zarych.  He was a long time member of the club and a friend to many.  He was, without a doubt, one of the most graceful skiers on the mountain. We will miss him.  In lieu of flowers the club has sent a donation to the Alzheimer’s Fund as per his family’s wishes.

GET WELL WISHES:
We send get well wishes for a full and speedy recovery to Tom Miles who was in motorcycle accident.

THANK YOU’s:
Again to Jane and Tom for all the years they have given the Lodging Committee.  Thanks again to the Heintz Family for hosting the Christmas Party, as usual there was fun had by all.  Also thank you to the Curtain Committee for hemming the curtains in the Fireplace room.

FACILITIES:
If something goes wrong or breaks while you are at the lodge, please fix it if possible, or notify Matt Kenny, Joe Faranetta, Ron Snider or Tom Fox so it can be taken care of as soon as possible.  There is a list of contact numbers located by the phone in the kitchen for heat and plumbing, oil etc.  The fireplace is more for ambiance than heat.  Please do not build huge fires.  There have been a few times where water is leaking in through the roof and running down the hood of the fireplace.  Please keep the fire at a reasonable size.  The fire should not be left unattended and must be completely out before retiring for the evening.

THE LODGE:
A reminder, it is required that you leave the lodge at least in the condition you found it.  Other members may arrive before the cleaning service. This is a community environment, and it is your responsibility to leave your room and the lodge in a condition that is clean and neat, as members may arrive prior to the cleaning service.  Clean your toilets and your sinks, please.  Lodge Rules, Opening and Closing procedures are posted on the bulletin board.   The number at the lodge is 802-496-8894

.
